Dear Friends and Supporters

"Looking Ahead to 2010"

The year 2009 brought some new challenges and struggles for the new church in Caroni , as well as a host of great blessings as we began July 12th. I hope that 2010 will find each and every one of us as committed to the task ahead as the Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:14-15 when he stated, "This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." I want to share with you some of the things we look forward to in the year ahead:

Outreach: We have a power-packed schedule of outreach events for the New Year. We hope to saturate our "Jerusalem" with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, including two Tent Meetings, tract distribution, door-to-door soul winning, Bible Distribution, VBS, Camp and Street Preaching also the Annual Lighthouse Baptist Conference in July and much more.

These are just a few of the things that I'm excited about in 2010. All of these things are simply tools however, to evangelize the lost, spiritually edify the saved, and strengthen the Christian families. I hope that you are on board for the great things the Lord will do in our midst in the year ahead. It's an honor to have you partner with us in this great work of the Lord.

We had our First Christmas Morning and New Year’s Eve Service with some good problems, the building was full and we had sixteen people sitting under the full moon of the open sky. We also had our First Sunday morning Worship Service with eleven in attendance and our First Youth Meeting with fourteen. In reality we have church Sunday morning; Sunday evening; Tuesday Pray Meeting and Bible Study and Friday Youth Meeting now in Caroni .

We would anticipate doing some work to expand another twelve feet but we must first take care of the outstanding bill at the Hardware Store. Please make this a matter of prayer and if the Lord would lay on your heart to help us we would certainly appreciate it.

May the Good Sweet Lord continue to bless you and your labours of love.

His servant,

Bro. Rampersad

Dear Bro. & Sis. In Christ,

This is a special letter that I write to those of you that have been so faithful to support our ministry both financially and prayerfully. As you know we have been living and working in Mexico for five and a half years now. We have assisted Banner of Faith ministries all this time (use to be Shields of Faith).

I worked as maintenance for both Academy and Bible Institute, all these years. The work has at times been at a slow pace but for most of the time I stayed rather busy. Also the Lord has let me learn a great many things, for which I'm grateful. Not only did I do maintenance but was involved with other construction projects also.

The ministry here has grown tremendously. When we came there were no dorms completed at the El Faro, no conference building, no kitchen or dining area, but now there are four dorms complete a kitchen an conference center, no credit to me but we give God the Glory.

Patti kept some of the smaller children, to help the other families in the ministry. Most of the time I preached on Sunday mornings at the church we attended in Martinillas, ( Iglesia Bautista Getsemani). I thank God and the Church for letting me do so, of course this was done with a translator. It has been a real blessing to work with the Shields family. We have a special place for them in our hearts, they have a great work for the Lord, and God is using them to help many in Mexico, to learn how to live Christ like lives, and learn of God's word.

Now I want to get to the heart of this letter. The time we have been here has also been a struggle for me. The ability to speak Spanish has been the struggle. I can go and buy things and hold a small conversation, but that's it. My hearing is also bad, and that hinders me from understanding what is being said. Patti and I both have set in services and not understood what was said. We've done this for five years and only got a little once in awhile. For sometime now I have had no peace about this.

When I surrendered to go where ever the Lord sent me, I believe that He wanted me to evangelize, that's what I want to do. But to do so effectively you must speak the language. I have handed out gospel tracts and with a translator at time spoke to some folks, but without someone to translate, I can do nothing.

For sometime now I have been helping the First Baptist Church of Combs Texas with their Prison Ministry. God has used me there, I have preached many services and seen many professions of faith made, also have personally led men to Christ. So I believe that this is where I need to be. These are bilingual people and sometimes I will need some Spanish to talk to them. I will need to continue studying the language, but for most of the time English is sufficient. To me there is no greater blessing than to lead someone to Christ, and should be our life goal to do so.

I thank God for the opportunity to do so. We have officially moved out of Mexico. I hope to work in the prisons majority of the time. There are services and classes to preach and teach almost every day of the week. Also we attend First Baptist Church of San Juan. The pastor and another missionary there both have planes, and asked me to fly with them at times into Mexico to evangelize and help bring food and clothing, of which I will also do. So I will occasionally go into Mexico to work also.

Dear Prayer Partners,

Greetings in Jesus' precious name.

First, we want to thank all of those who helped with Christmas this year. It always takes a great

effort, and a lot of hard work, Thanks !!! This year, we had problems getting the toys into Mexico.

The officials wouldn't give us permits and wouldn't let us cross with toys, but we finally got them

across. Our Mexican workers are very flexible and everything worked out well. By next month, we

should have all of the reports and give more details.

Kevin brought toys to Texas. Hilda and I picked those up in LA and TX. This gave us time to

help move Hilda's family to Clint, Texas. Clint is just east of El Paso and we are building a mission

there. Her family will be helping us with this new work. In the future, we will be storing every thing for Mexico in Clint, Please pray for this.

Last Monday, we met with all of the workers who do the ministries in Coahuila, Zacatecas, and

Vera Cruz states in Piedras Negras. It was a great time of fellowship and encouragement. We went

over in three vehicles, a van and a suburban that were donated to Mario and Miguel and our van.

An three vehicles were loaded with supplies and we went over without any problems, A lot of you

were praying for this .•..thanks!!!

Bro. Chuy called the other day and said that one of tbe missions in southern Coahuila state that was

started a few years ago is no longer a mission, but is now a church. They ordained the pastor and

the church is now self-supporting, self propagating and self-governing. Praise the Lord! This is

the goal for all of the ministries. Chuy said now that this church no longer needs our help, he is

going to start a new mission somewhere else (he only has 5 other missions in 3 states). Pray that

God leads him to the right place for the new ministry.

Bro. Chuy needs your prayers for his health. The doctors are supposed to operate on him for

prostrate problems. He doesn't know all of the details, but looked pretty bad when we saw him last

week. The doctors keep giving him different pills to take hoping to avoid surgery. Please pray for

him!!!

I have a special prayer request this mouth. Bro. Tom Sloan is a missionary working in southern

Mexico. Tom grew up in Mexico where his father was a doctor and missionary. Tom and his

brother, Philip are carrying on tile ministry in Chiapas state started by his father. Tom is a friend

of mine. He called me a couple of weeks ago and asked for help. He and Phillip have secured

permission to install a Christian radio station in southern Mexico. They have been able to get all of

the equipment for the station, but need to buy some property. This will cost $80,000.They need to

put down $27,000 and already have half of this. Please pray for this project. If you would like to

help with this project, you can call Tom at 512-626-9960 or send a check to Radio Land Fund 6203

Homestead Trail, Austin, TX 78735. Please pray, this is a great opportunity to send the gospel to

a lot of remote people.

Because of Calvary,                                               Gal. 6:9
